Every person, parent or family has individual needs. My goal is to assist clients towards empowerment, management of their symptoms and freedom from emotional pain. I take a solution focused approach that focuses on a client’s strengths to help mitigate their needs in other areas. I hope to assist with developing awareness into how thoughts, feelings and behaviors are related, and to develop healthy coping skills.
I specialize in working with adults’ teens and young adults. I have also worked with many clients in the foster are system, in the corrections setting, in acute mental health facilities, and federally funded clinics. I am experienced in working with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I offer individual and family therapy, and work from a solution focused approach.

Jessica Martinez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) providing Cognitive behavioral therapy with Dialectical Behavioral therapy interventions. Jessica received her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2017 from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary. Prior to obtaining her Master of Arts, Jessica completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Fresno in 2012.
Throughout her career, Jessica has provided mental health services at nonprofit organizations in Fresno and Kings County. Jessica has experience working with adolescents with behavioral challenges, juvenile probation, school counseling, individuals suffering from transgenerational trauma, difficulties with acculturation, depression, anxiety, borderline personality, conduct disorder, oppositional defiance and children/adults struggling with ADHD. Jessica has training in Anger Management, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

My motivation is to provide therapy, and serving the community, to end the stigma of mental health by providing people with the tools to help them live their best lives. I enjoy working with multi-cultural backgrounds to help others identify their emotions, thoughts, and feelings, to provide self-exploration. I graduated from California State University with my Bachelors in Victimology in 2013, I then completed my Masters In Social Work with the University of Southern California majoring in Mental Health with a minor in Military Social Work, 2017. My therapueitc skills include the cycle of violence, trauma-informed interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy, emotionally focused individual therapy, couples/ family/ adults/ teens/children, maternal mental health techniques, and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques. Including, assessing for suicide risk, and preventative measures. I have a background working with substance use patients, foster families, and partnering and working alongside/for county agencies. I obtained my B.A. in 1994 and I am a certified Life Coach. I have experience working as a counselor with client affected by HIV. I have over 15 years working in the substance abuse field. I was also co-founder and facilitator of the Girl Power Program in Madera county from 1998 to 2002. I worked in the schools as a dropout prevention sepcialist and as a home school liason. May not be able to remove all obstacle, but we will work through them. I am stronger, I am wiser, I am better!
